      Superfoods is a reference book for consumers, registered dietitians, and nutrition professionals as a resource for identifying, selecting, preparing, and consuming nutrient-rich foods. This is a timely book, as the terms “superfood,” “antioxidant-rich,” and “nutrient-dense” are in the media, leaving people confused about what it all really means. In her introduction, Reinhard defines “superfood” as “a food that contains a high level of essential nutrients and other compounds that may benefit your health” and emphasizes a portfolio diet approach that promotes consumption of a range of food.
