Pulse on Health: Garden-Based Pulse Nutrition and Biology Grade 4 Curriculum

      Pulse crops, which include dry edible beans, peas, chickpeas (garbanzo beans), and lentils, are included within the large botanical family of legumes noted for bearing their fruits in pods. Pulses are a rich source of energy, protein, fiber, low-glycemic-index carbohydrates, and B vitamins and minerals. Incorporating more pulse crops could improve overall dietary quality.
