COVID-19 & Children: Stop the Spread of Germs.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) virus is spread primarily from person to person, often through infected people breathing out droplets. Coronavirus disease 2019 symptoms can vary from mild to severe. Getting vaccinated, wearing a mask, staying 6 ft apart, avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated indoor spaces, and proper handwashing are the keys to help protect yourself and others, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations.

Although children and teens can become infected with COVID-19, they are not particularly susceptible to severe forms of the illness unless they have underlying health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, chronic lung disease, sickle cell disease, or immunosuppression.
