If someone is looking for a book that seamlessly weaves together the biochemical and
applied aspects of nutrition science for undergraduate or graduate nutrition studies,
Drs Gropper, Smith, and Carr have produced work in Advanced Nutrition and Human Metabolism, Eighth Edition. I am still holding on to the second edition of this text from my days as an undergraduate
in Nutrition and Food Science at Auburn University, in which Gropper was one of my
instructors. Compared with the older edition of the text, the eighth edition has kept
pace with both the evolution of nutrition science and the perspectives sections at
the end of each chapter which help put some scientific information into context.
